Good Bye Poem

poem

Goodbye to regret,
that quiet accountant of the could-have-beens.

I leave the ledger open, unfinished,
and walk away without owing it anything.

Goodbye to nostalgia.

Goodbye to the past—
not as an enemy,
but as a house it's time to leave.
Its rooms are smaller now,
its windows fixed on scenes
that no longer move.

Goodbye to the past—
I release you.
You are no longer questions
I must answer.

Goodbye to the one I was before,
who tried to be everything at once,
who carried too many selves
like fragile glass.

Goodbye to the spirits, the souls
who stepped beyond my reach too soon—
I do not call you back.
I do not follow.
I stand here,
and I let love stretch without touching,
a thread unbroken by distance.

Hello to the unknown—
wide as the vats blue sky.
I step forward without a map,
without the need to name what comes.

Hello to emptiness,
not as absence,
but as boundless space.

Hello to silence—
the one that listens without reply.

I stand here,
between what has been released
and what has not yet arrived,

and for the first time,

I do not reach backward.
I do not rush ahead.

I simply stand here between past and future.

I am the voice of the wind.

I am the dance of Fluidity and Infinity

I am the song of nothing-ness and everything-ness.

Sonia, 2025.
